COMMUNITY UPDATES: 2022-2023 Faculty Fellowship Recipients Announced

The following was sent as a message from UHCL president Richard Walker.

Dear UHCL Faculty and Staff:I am pleased to announce the recipients of four University Faculty Fellowship awards for the 2022-2023 Academic Year: Dr. Jana Willis, Department Chair and Professor of Literacy, Library Science, and Learning Technologies, College of Education; Dr. Kewei Sha, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, College of Science and Engineering; Dr. Amy Lucas, Associate Professor of Sociology, College of Human Sciences and Humanities; and Dr. Robert Phalen, Associate Professor of Occupational Safety and Health with specializations in industrial hygiene or safety, College of Science and Engineering.University Faculty Fellowships are awarded to faculty for their accomplishments and contributions to University of Houston-Clear Lake for exemplary teaching, research and service. Fellowships are awarded for a period of one academic year. Recipients receive funds to be used for educational materials, seminars and other related items. Their names will be added to a plaque in Atrium II, along with former recipients of this award.I would like to thank the faculty and academic administrators at the college level who nominated faculty for these fellowships and also to faculty who served in an advisory capacity to Provost Maynard in helping to formulate the recommendations.Again, congratulations to the recipients of UH-Clear Lake’s University Faculty Fellowships for 2022-2023.Sincerely,Richard Walker, Ed.D.President
