Train like an “American Ninja Warrior” in Pearland
A new obstacle course has opened inside of Tom Bass Park in Pearland. The course, which offers an NFL and Ninja Warrior style experience, is the first of its kind in Texas.
The 11-step obstacle course is a friendly way to let out your competitive side while testing your strength, agility, balance and more. With a timer on site, park goers can track their personal progress.
The park plans to install a similar course for kids 13 years old and younger within the next year.

Houston BCycle offers efficient transportation in the city
Houston BCycle is a bike-share program that offers residents, commuters and visitors an efficient and alternative form of transportation. Bicycling helps reduce pollution and congestion, while at the same time promoting personal health and wellness. Houston BCycle is operated by Houston Bike Share, a nonprofit organization.
Anyone can rent a bicycle, whether they hold a membership or not, as long as they have a credit card to put on file. The first 60 minutes are free for those who hold monthly or annual memberships. Riders who do not have a membership pay $3 for 30-minute trips, making it ideal for short trips. Membership fees are $99 for an annual membership and $9 for monthly memberships.

This program is designed for children 3-6 years old who are ready to sit and listen to stories in addition to enjoying songs, finger plays and action rhymes.
Baby Time: 10:15 a.m. — 8/2; 8/9; 8/16; 8/23; 8/30
This program is for infants up to 18 months along with a caregiver. Join the Evelyn Meador Library year round for finger plays, nursery and action rhymes, books, and simple songs. After the formal portion of the program toys are brought out for free play.
Toddler Time: 11 a.m. — 8/2; 8/9; 8/16; 8/23; 8/30
This is a year round program for children 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers featuring songs, nursery rhymes, stories and finger plays. After the story, there is free play with toys.
Kids Make Too! Craft: 4:30 p.m. — 8/9
Water Safety Program & Pizza Party: 3 p.m. — 8/5
