Mark your calendars for UHCL Pearland event

The University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland Campus and the City of Pearland will be hosting the 2016 Tree Campus USA tree planting event on Nov. 2 at the university. The first session will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a second session at 3:00 p.m.

There will be informational workshops, highlighting the benefit of this program, along with the opportunity to participate in planting trees around campus.

To earn the Tree Campus USA recognition, a university must meet five standards that demonstrate a commitment to planting and caring for trees on campus as well as involving students in that process. These include maintaining a Campus Tree Advisory Committee, dedicating funds for the campus tree program, observing Arbor Day, host a service-learning project and a formal Campus Tree Care Plan.

For more information, call UHCL Pearland Campus Operations at 281-212-1600 or visit the campus website.
