Questions answered at Town Hall meeting

UHCL President William Staples addresses students' concerns at a Town Hall Meeting.

 

Students addressed their concerns regarding university budget cuts, tuition and fee increases, and institutional funding priorities to university administrators last week at a Town Hall Meeting.

President William Staples began the meeting by explaining the history of tuition deregulation and how it has affected the rising cost of higher
education including the 2003 deregulation of tuition. The university is    preparing for a potential 5 percent budget cut in response to declining sales tax revenue.
