Message from UHCL Police Department

The following message was sent out to the campus community by UHCL Chief of Police Paul Willingham Dec. 12, 2012.

Dear UHCL Community,

There will be a vendor on campus Thursday, December 13, 2012, between the hours of 9:00AM and 12:00PM conducting a demonstration of a siren / mass notification system. During this demonstration the vendor will be broadcasting several simulated audible alert tones and verbal announcements. This demonstration is scheduled to take place in Parking Lot D and may be heard throughout the outdoor areas of campus. Several other law enforcement agencies from the region will also be attending to view the demonstration.

The purpose of this demonstration is to determine if a system of this nature could be beneficial to the UHCL community in the event of an actual emergency. Please do not become alarmed during these announcements.

Should you have any concerns that an actual emergency is in progress, please contact UHCL Police Dispatch at 281-283-2222.
