The Student Life office will host the 25th Annual Chili Cook-Off  on Saturday, April 5 from 12 noon to 4pm in at the SSCB North Lawn at the University of Houston-Clear Lake campus. The university’s oldest tradition, taking on an 80’s theme this year, is a family-friendly outdoor event where students, faculty, staff, and the community can come to campus and enjoy chili, games, and fun. (Note: The cook-off will not be held if there is inclement weather)

There will be tasting kits on sale ($4 with a UHCL ID, $5 without a UHCL ID) at the Student Life booth at the official entrance of the Cook-Off. Using the kits, chili tasters will be given three cups to sample various forms of chili, and can then vote on their favorite chili. Their votes will determine which team will awarded the 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd place for best chili. Tasters will also be given an opportunity to vote for Best Booth, Popular Vote, and the Student Government Association Award.

The contest is open to anyone in the UHCL community, although the majority of the team must consist of UHCL members. Applications are currently being accepted, with an application fee of $30.00 (checks made payable to UHCL). The deadline to submit the Team Entry packet along with the application fee is set for Monday, March 3, 2014 at 12 noon.
