“Crossed”

And out of the woods comes Noah. I knew it would be Noah, but I kind of wish it would have been Morgan.

Well, the zombie apocalypse officially sucks and almost everyone has become adjusted to it. The walkers didn’t appear until 20 minutes into the episode. This shows that the people who are left in the apocalypse are not too worried about the walkers; the people are more dangerous.
Except Father Gabriel, who doesn’t have a clue what to do…ever.

I love how the tables have really turned. Carl has to be the bearer of bad news and tell Father Gabriel that he needs to learn to fight, to use a weapon, and that he can’t stay in one place anymore. Also, “sometimes the skulls are not as soft” so you really need to drive your weapon down hard. Carl is a 14-year-old boy, and he has to tell the reverend how to survive in this zombie-infested world; usually the reverend would be the mentor. This just goes to show how much has changed.

Father Gabriel really is a mysterious character. He locked himself in his room and started pulling up the floorboards with his machete. He crawled out from the bottom of the church and immediately stepped on a nail. Is this a reference to the crucifixion or ishe just that unfortunate? Now, Father Gabriel is hobbling about the woods, alone, with no weapon and an injured ankle. He tried to kill one zombie, but she was wearing a cross necklace, that didn’t happen. That nonsense has to stop. Let’s see how long he lasts, I hope it’s not too much longer.

It seems like so much happened this episode, but I feel like it was just a filler episode. Everyone was present in this episode, but not a lot of action was present. The only thing that really progressed forward was Rick, Daryl, Tyrese, Sasha and Noah attempting to storm Grady Memorial in order to find Carol and Beth. All I can say is there were Bobs, cops and melted street walkers.

About the Bobs issue, Sasha won’t stop whining about Bob, who was last seen at the BOB-be-que. Now, she has found Bob #2, who bashed her head in a window. Why didn’t he kill her? Noah said he was a good cop, but why should we believe him?

Then, there are the melting street walkers. According to AMC’s Talking Dead, the melting street walkers are the aftermath of the napalm that was set off during season one which was witnessed by Lori and Shane. These walkers have been stuck to the ground, melting like fresh gum stuck to the sidewalk. These effects were phenomenal.

Now, Daryl didn’t seem to have too many issues with the cops or the melty-walkers. We thought he was going down when the cop took him to the ground, and tried to force the walker (or should I say “biter”) to eat his face. Daryl just shoved his hands into the eyes of a nearby walker, and knocked the cop out with the zombie head. That must have been one of the walkers with a not-so-soft head. Interesting side-note: Norman Reedus was actually able to control the melted street walkers remotely by sticking his fingers in the eye-sockets.

Finally, it looks like Glenn will get to utilize his leadership qualities after all. Since he is away from the Ricktatorship, things might actually look up for him and he can become the leader of the group. He did find and catch the fish. Who cares if the fish are infected, food is food. The people seem to like him and look up to him, I mean one is his wife after all. He won’t be the silly errand boy who is sent to get tampons and diapers any longer! Bye-bye baseball cap, hello cowboy hat.

I could go on and on about the series, so if you have anything to add to conversation, or any questions, please comment below. I would love to hear feedback.
