‘The Fresh Start’

Living in peace
A joyous release,
From every day cares
Of earth’s noisy affairs.

The flowers in bloom
Erasing all gloom,
Happiness isn’t a crime
Just a moment in time.

Laughter and love
A beautiful dove,
Taken away
None to repay.

All starts to break
Her body begins to shake,
Doubt settles in
Unforeseeable tailspin.

The peace then gone
Replaced with wrong,
Now the noise
Rule out poise.

Finding the road back
A dangerous crack,
Can level out hope
Of regaining the slope.

Future seems bleak
The body grows weak,
While over the hill
The world stands still.

Waiting made cruel
Despair looks to rule,
Unless time then chooses
To help heal the bruises.

A lifeline is given
Usually forbidden,
Fate intervenes
He has His own means.

First, examine the fear
All the shed tears,
A time again to dance
Relies on taking chance.

Second, see the effect
Of an unfair wreck,
Hold the breath long
Still hope for a song.

Third, time to find
Place to rewind,
Reattach the strings
Simple, happy things.

Sleep is a friend
Will only help mend,
The waking dream
And the balance beam.

Not all is dark and drear
A time will come to cheer,
When we leave the past behind
Then comes peace of mind.

The sun rays will one day again shine
Through your heart’s window blinds,
Consoling a troubled heart
Then, and only then, begins the fresh start.
