UHCL alumnae to present on engaging college students with autism

Julie Jones, Dean of Gateway Academy, will be in the Bayou Forest Room on Thursday, Oct. 20. from 4-5:30 p.m. delivering a presentation on actively engaging individuals with autism in college. The presentation will offer a framework for understanding the social transition for students from high school to college.

As the number of individuals with autism attending college rises, the importance of public understanding of mental health is increasing.

Jones, a UHCL alumni, is the Dean of Gateway Academy, a school specifically designed to support adolescents with AD/HD, dyslexia, autism and other social and learning differences.
