Forty hawks receive advantage with scholarship

The first 40 recipients of the need-based Hawk Advantage Scholarship for freshmen recently started attending the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL).

The Hawk Advantage Scholarship Program awards recipients with up to $2,500 per year to help defray educational costs. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years for an awarded total of $10,000.

The program was first initiated in 2015, and in its first year, 170 students applied for the scholarship. UHCL aims to grow the scholarship program in order to provide funds to 100 or more students by 2020.
