University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland receives recognition from Arbor Day Foundation

University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland campus received recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation for earning the 2016 Tree Campus USA for the second consecutive year.

The Arbor Day Foundation recognizes and honors colleges and universities around the country for promoting healthy trees, as well as encouraging involvement from students and staff to engage in forestry management on campus.

There were five main standards that were required by Tree Campus USA which includes a tree advisory committee, evidence of a campus tree-care plan, dedicated budget for campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and a student service learning project.
