Frost Bank presents check for UHCL Success Through Education Programs

University of Houston-Clear Lake College of Education Dean Mark D. Shermis received a check from Frost Bank Vice President of Community Development Trisha Bradley for scholarships for the university’s Success Through Education Programs, or STEP. A collaboration between UH-Clear Lake, five area school districts and four community colleges, STEP is designed to create opportunities for students to explore teaching as a profession and to prepare them to become certified teachers. The Frost Bank scholarships are in keeping with the corporation’s tradition of supporting the educational needs of students in the local community. “We realize that a vibrant quality of life benefits all of us and believe in becoming an integral part of the communities we serve,” said Bradley. Pictured (l to r, front) are: STEP students Shanael Evans and Gretchen Hardy; (back) Frost Bank Community Representatives Ray Acevedo and Amina Garcia, Bradley, Shermis, and UHCL Associate Director of University Advancement Richard J.
