BRIEF: Donations needed for UHCL food pantry
David Rachita, the dean of students, is calling for donations to the on-campus food pantry.
The UHCL food pantry was created out of necessity after Hurricane Harvey hit the area in 2017 and has been in use ever since.
Before the fall semester starts on Aug. 26, the Dean of Students office is restocking the pantry and needs donations from the community.
Items requested include:
- -canned meats
- -stews
- -soups
- -boxed mac and cheese
- -canned fruits
- -healthy cereals
- -ramen
- -toilet paper
- -laundry detergent
- -dish soap
Rachita said that while they will accept canned vegetables, they are not currently in need of them.
All donations can be dropped off in the Dean of Students office, SSCB 1.200, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
