The Star Wars franchise dates all the way back to the late 1970s and was first created by writer-director George Lucas and continues to have films, books, video games and many other types of media made for its expanded universe. This timeline presents the most prominent films by the order in which they were released while giving some background information on the films themselves and detailing the Skywalker Saga from the beginning in “The Phantom Menace” to the ending in the upcoming movie “The Rise of the Skywalker.” May the force be with you, reader.
