Hospital
Where is my?
Found it
Anesthesia mixed with my need to dependent
Tears of the constant reminder, no surgery gets easier

Day 4
No talking
Some breakfast
Soft foods
But remember no talking
Naps, oh the glory of naps

Day 5
No talking
Some breakfast
Soft foods
Tired,
Tired of the uncertainty
Tired of the constants fake news
Tired of being silent

Day 6
Arguments

Skips a few days

I am now close to a week from surgery
Over a week in quarantine
Started to work again
Started online classes again
Started feeling better

Is this a new sense of normality?

COVID-19 has brought up many topics
Universal healthcare?
Accessibility to resources?
Perhaps, the destruction of capitalism?

My community is suffering
My people are suffering
Madres e padres, y toda la familia sufre
But when will it get better?

I see posts of people having no fright
Understanding there is food in their fridge
Money in their pockets
A will to make it through

But for many that is not their true
I hope COVID brings more than awareness
I hope it brings solutions
For mami y papi
For mis hermanitos
For la vecina metiche

Our people deserve more than half assed promises from politicians
More than businesses choosing themselves over the lives of mi abuelitos

A new normal, espero
