COMMUNITY UPDATE: Tropical Storm Beta

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

Tropical Storm Beta is in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to become a hurricane later this weekend as it moves slowly northeastward along the Texas coast. At this time, University of Houston-Clear Lake has been placed under a Hurricane Watch until further notice. Tropical storm-force winds are expected as early as Sunday evening, lasting up to 48 to 72 hours.

UH-Clear Lake, including Pearland and TMC locations, is currently open and operating as scheduled. Administrators are monitoring the storm and will be making decisions as necessary to ensure that the campus community remains safe. For updates on UHCL’s status during inclement weather, visit UHCL’s emergency information website or call the UHCL hotline at 281-283-2221.
