COMMUNITY UPDATE: Announcing the 2020-21 Mieszkuc Professorship recipient

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the recipient of the Marilyn Mieszkuc Memorial Professorship in Women’s Studies for the 2020-2021 academic year: Dr. Wanalee Romero, Clinical Assistant Professor of Humanities and Director of the First-Year Seminar in the College of Human Sciences and Humanities.

This annual endowment is awarded to a faculty member in the Women’s Studies program to expand research critical to gender and women’s studies. The endowment was established in 2003 by university friend Ben Mieszkuc to memorialize his wife, Marilyn, a local attorney and civic leader who strongly supported educational equality for women.

I thank the selection committee for their work and our university donors who made this award possible. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Wanalee Romero.
