Fantasy Football: Week 2 Round-Up and A Look at Week 3

Fantasy Football: Week 2 Round-Up and A Look at Week 3

Aaron Rodgers, Cooper Kupp, Travis Kelce, and Johnathan Taylor, the usual fantasy superstars, are all out for the foreseeable future. If you used a high draft pick on any of these stars this season, you may feel like your season is lost. Don’t worry… your season is not over! When one player goes down, one player will step up. Here is a look at game changers going into your week 3 matchup.

Can’t Miss Targets

L.A. Rams Puka Nacua- 26 AVG. pts

The rookie wide receiver for the L.A. Rams, Puka Nacua, has stepped up by taking over as the favorite target for QB Matthew Stafford this season. After the loss of Copper Kupp at the beginning of the season, it was assumed that Van Jefferson would take over as the primary receiver for Stafford. However, Nacua has broken out this season for 266 yards on 25 receptions and secured his spot as the go-to guy. Nacua is currently rostered in 70% of leagues, and if you have the opportunity to claim him on waivers do not hesitate.

L.A. Rams Kyren Williams- 22.7 AVG. pts

Kyren Williams, another L.A. Ram, is having himself breakout games through the first two weeks of the season and does not seem to be slowing down. Going into Week 2, Rams coach Sean McVay made Williams the number one RB on the depth chart, and it has been rumored that ex-number one RB Cam Akers may be looking for a plane ticket out of Los Angeles. Against the 49ers, Williams accounted for 58% of the Rams rushing attempts and also got involved in the passing game. William is currently rostered in about 60% of fantasy leagues and could burn you with his dual-threat ability if you do not pick him up going into Week 3.

Sleeper Target

Houston Texans C.J. Stroud- 16.1 AVG. pts

The future franchise quarterback for the Houston Texans, C.J. Stroud, is a very high-risk high-reward player. Stroud has already shown his amazing ability to run and has shown flashes of being an elite passer so far. Stroud has thrown for 240+ yards in each of his last two games. However, the yards have not always been translating to points, due to Stroud’s lack of ball security and interceptions. With the current trend of QBs going down with injuries this season, it would be wise to stash Stroud away as a backup quarterback on your fantasy team. Stroud is only rostered in about 7% of fantasy leagues for now.
