UHCL Police Bulletin: Crime Alert – Robberies in the area

The following police bulletin was released by the UHCL Police Department Friday, Oct. 5. This morning the bulletin was updated with contact information and a case number.

In the past 24 hours, there has been a rash of armed robberies in the area. Yesterday, a person was robbed at gunpoint near the Shipley’s Donuts on El Dorado. The suspect’s description is unknown.

At 12:10AM this morning, a UHCL student was robbed at gunpoint at the Armand Place Apartments. The suspect is a white male, early twenties, 5’8, very thin, close cut hairstyle (unknown color), wearing a cream colored short sleeve shirt with blue jeans and carrying a black semi-automatic weapon. Suspect walked up to the victim and demanded his money.

At 2:20AM this morning, a person was robbed at gunpoint in the parking of the Denny’s on Bay Area, across from UHCL. The suspect’s description is unknown. It is unknown if these robberies are related. Please take precautions while on campus and in the Clear Lake community at large. Be aware of your surroundings. Do not travel alone if possible. Do not go out during the late night/early mornings.
