Rudy Giuliani Speaks to UH-Clear Lake Students

The following press release is from the UHCL National Society of Leadership and Success.

Rudy Giuliani, renowned 107th Mayor of New York City, is participating in a broadcast event sponsored by the UHCL chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success.  The event, entitled Principled Leadership: In the Face of Change and Crisis, will be on Tuesday, Feb 5, 6pm – 7:30pm in the SSCB Lecture Hall room 1100 and is free to all students, staff and faculty.  The event will be web streamed live from Chapman University, and all viewers are invited to text in questions which will be answered live during the broadcast.

In his presentation, Giuliani will share leadership principles from his best-selling book Leadership.  He will discuss the importance of inspiring excellence from the team around oneself, developing and communicating one’s beliefs and standing up to bullies.

Under his leadership (1993-2001), Giuliani reduced the overall crime and murder rate to make New York City the safest large city in America.  Additionally, he swiftly marshaled his leadership skills to pull his city, and perhaps the entire nation, through the crisis of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. As a result of his accomplishments, he was named “Person of the Year” byTime magazine, received an honorary knighthood by the Queen of England and awarded the “Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award.” He has been touted as one of the most effective chief executives in modern American history.

Limited by two terms as Mayor, Giuliani formed Giuliani Partners. Recognized by Consulting magazine as the “Consultant of the Year,” it quickly established itself as a leader in strategic consulting, emergency preparedness and leadership. Giuliani is also a partner in the law firm Bracewell & Giuliani, an international law firm with more than 400 lawyers.

This is the fourth installment of the 2012-2013 multi-speaker series sponsored by the Society.  The Society speaker series, which reaches more than 520 college campuses and 130,000 students each month during the academic year, is designed to support The National Society of Leadership and Success’s overall mission of building leaders who make a better world.
