Announcing the UHCL GIS User Group

Do you want to learn more about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software? Does your data have a spatial component that could be geographically visualized? Do you actively use GIS and want to connect with other people on campus who use it as well? Please join us at the first ever meeting of the UHCL GIS User Group!

The group will meet on Tuesday, April 7th at 2:00 PM in the Neumann Library classroom, on the 2nd floor of the Bayou Building. The purpose of this group is to bring together people from across UHCL who are curious about GIS or who use GIS for their research or work, to learn from each other and exchange ideas. No GIS experience is required.

Did you know that ArcGIS is installed on PCs in all academic computing labs and in the Neumann Library? Did you know you can install ArcGIS on your own computer and get access to hours of online training at no cost to you? To learn more about GIS at UHCL and the GIS User Group, please see the GIS & Data Resources guide at http://libguides.uhcl.edu/gis-data, maintained by the Neumann Library.

For any questions, please email Geography Professor Dr. Jeff Lash (lash@uhcl.edu) or Research & Instruction Librarian Clarke Iakovakis (iakovakis@uhcl.edu). We hope to see you there!
