Did you know… about Career Services?

As a student at UHCL, I came upon the Career Services department, located in SSCB 3.109. Career Services offers career planning and job search assistance to UHCL students. They accept walk-ins or you can make an appointment to speak with a counselor.

As I am getting ready for my last semester at UHCL and one of the requirements for my degree is an internship. That is why I am eager to use these services. If I can receive an extra boost of help with my resume, cover letters and valuable advice over interviews, then this process will be less stressful. Some of the career services that are provided is guidance on career assessments, one-on-one counseling/advising, interview preparation and mock interviews. There are also networking events and job fairs for students.

Next week, I will be meeting with one a counselor and I am actually pretty excited. I am ready to begin the internship process and learn helpful tips from counselors that are willing to help me succeed.

You can request an appointment, or if you do not have enough time to meet, their drop-in sessions are between 10 to 15 minutes. For more information about the services offered, you can visit the Career Services website or you can call them at 281-283-2590.
