POETRY: ‘To a Mysterious beauty’

Contributed by: Ryan Hughes, psychology major

In the passion of the day,

I find your sweet carrion song.

In the rose buds and

sweet summer scents of May,

I find your beauty sits there,

saying, “here, I belong.”

Around this flowering feeling you have made,

a dancing tune, so sweet and strong,

comes bursting forth in a fit of play,

with the soft serenading tune of your sweet carrion song.

It puts me on my knees, as if to say,

“A feeling so harmonious only rarely comes along.”
