“Making Teachable Moments Out of Meltdowns for Toys, Treats, and Attention”
Presented by Kyle Dawson and Christie Stiehl, BCaBA
This presentation focuses on how to reduce problem behavior that occurs to gain access to toys, treats, and attention for learners of all ages and diagnoses. The presentation first provides an overview of the different reasons problem behavior may occur and teaches attendees one way to determine why a specific learner’s problem behavior is occurring. The presenters will then provide multiple strategies based on the principles of applied behavior analysis to reduce problem behavior to gain access to toys, treats, and attention.
