Boozy movies: My experience at Star Cinema Grill

Life as a college student with a part-time job waiting tables is hard. Between dealing with challenging school work and whiny middle-aged people who can’t comprehend how a restaurant can run out of their favorite dish, I start to run out of energy. Nothing recharges the batteries quite like polishing off a pitcher of beer in a comfy chair at the movies.

Getting drunk and watching a movie may not sound like the most fun, but don’t knock it until you try it. Alcohol can make even so-so movies into a great time. You can fully immerse yourself in the experience as you start to relax with a good beer.

Intoxicated movie watching brings out your inner film critic as you really get into the movie and realize all the plot holes, but ignore them because you are enjoying the experience regardless.

There is actually a whole podcast and youtube series dedicated to drunken movie reviews, which does make me feel a little better about my favorite past time.

It is best to avoid drama or dialogue heavy movies when drinking, I recommend going to a lighter movie, Beauty and the Beast might be a good choice or maybe a kids movie. As long as you go later in the day there probably won’t be too many children. You can’t go wrong with horror either, but watch out because some people get a little vocal when they have had a few beers.

Star Cinema Grill has been a life changer for me and students of drinking age everywhere. They offer a full bar with reasonably priced drinks and a great selection of burgers, salads and pizzas that they bring out to you during the movie.

Tuesday’s are the best day to visit Star Cinema Grill because they offer discounted movie tickets, $5 off pitchers of beer and $1 sliders. It makes for a great mid-week pick me up.

If drinking alcohol isn’t your thing, you should still check out Star Cinema Grill for their Saint Arnold root beer floats and delicious hot chocolate. Besides, someone has to be the designated driver.
