VIDEO: A tasty visit to Texas Beer Refinery

Since 2013, Texas Beer Refinery (TBR) has become a familiar face in the Houston craft beer scene. Owned by Ryan Rhodes and John Hearn, TBR has seen huge success in its five years of operation. The micro-brewery has become so popular that it has had to open a separate taproom down the road from the brewery. Not only does the taproom serve up cold pints, bottles and growlers of TBR specialties, it also delivers a craft food menu from burgers and wings to the Wednesday steak night special.

If you are up to the challenge, sign a waiver and tackle the wing challenge. Using a special technique, TBR created a spicy wing sauce that packs some heat. You can even try one wing in the special sauce for $2 before trying to tackle all 12 for the challenge. If spicy isn’t for you, don’t worry, the team at TBR has custom made flavors for all spice levels.

Open Monday-Thursday 4 p.m.-10 p.m., Friday-Saturday 12 p.m.-12 a.m. and Sunday 12 p.m.-10 p.m.
