The Los Angeles Times reported on May 7 that under Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ new zero-tolerance immigration policy, families attempting to illegally cross the border would be separated and detained. Several weeks later on May 31, President Donald Trump announced plans to impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada and the European Union. Less than two weeks later, on June 11, President Trump lashed out at key allies at the G7 summit, further isolating the United States from key allies in Europe, Asia, and North America. A day later President Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, praising him for his handling of a difficult job ruling North Korea. This cartoon illustrates a shift in priorities for the United States on the world stage, orchestrated by President Trump, and the true extent of a border wall that goes beyond the Southern border of the United States.
