Peter Parker might be the “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man,” but he is still a high school kid on a school field trip in “Spider-Man: Far From Home.”

Directed by Jon Watts the film,  which is already a box office hit having earned $185 million opening week, is refreshingly exciting as the Marvel movie follow up to the pinnacle box office hit “Avengers: Endgame.” The film shows just how far Peter Parker has come since the events of “the blip.”

When Peter and his classmates go on a field trip for school in Europe, they find themselves stuck far from home with strange monsters. Heroes and villains clash in this thrilling roller-coaster of mystery.

With over 10 years of films, the team in charge of making Marvel movies have been unstoppable. Each movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to deliver, with “Spider-Man: Far From Home” being no different.

This new “Spidey” film is everything and more comic booker lovers could wish for since the creation of Spider-Man in 1962. The comic hero was refreshing and bold as creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko gave a teenager superpowers which mimic a spider.

From 2002 to now, three actors have portrayed this fun and entertaining role. Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and now actor Tom Holland. Before Holland’s portrayal, Garfield was a really great Spider-Man after taking up the mantle from Maguire.

Yet, Holland proves he is the perfect balance of Spider-Man and Peter Parker. When one dissects a superhero, the alter ego must be just as convincing at the cape and cowl, which makes one believe Holland was born to play this role.

Throughout the film, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is forced into making really difficult choices, as the lives of those he cares about are at risk including MJ (Zendaya) and his classmates. Throughout the film, Peter is flustered with who he wants to be and the type of hero he wants to become.

As a subplot, the romantic relationship between Peter Parker and MJ begins to unfold as the web-slinging teen must navigate between his dual identities.

Cinematically this movie lacks nothing as the animation, plot, music and dialogue are outstanding. Nearing the conclusion of the movie, Spider-Man confronts the darkness in his heart and mind in a scene not easily forgotten, as the camera angles and audio quality makes one respect the silence in the moment so much more.

The way the camera captures this action-packed film is breathtaking. It will pull one back into their seat while giving a new perspective on the web-slinging superhuman Spider-Man. Peter Parker might just be a kid from Queens, but he has big shoes to fill following the recent loss of his mentor.

Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays Mysterio, has had a lot of diverse acting roles, but his first superhero film is nothing less than phenomenal. He shows everyone a captivating and impressive character.

Gaining Peter’s trust and leaving nothing left unsaid, one sees what type of hero Mysterio is – if he is one at all. After Gyllenhaal’s performance and portrayal of Mysterio, audiences can be confident in seeing him again in a similar setting.

If one likes a plot with an action-packed thrilling drama, “Spider-Man: Far From Home” is the right choice when heading to movie theaters this summer. Get tickets before it’s too late to see this perfect balance of action, romance and humor on the big screen.

Just make sure to stay after the previews to see how Peter Parker gets himself into an unwelcome sticky situation.

Sometimes the world will throw one into a tunnel of darkness; time and space feeling like an empty void. However, as Spider-Man has taught us over the years, with great power comes great responsibility. When all else fails one must find the superhero inside themselves to conquer the seemingly impossible.
