INFOGRAPHIC: A brief history of toilet paper

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers across the country are finding stores everywhere to be completely sold out of toilet paper. The product people know and love has only been around for 150 years. Before toilet paper was invented, people used a variety of readily available materials including leaves, grass, fruit skins, wood shavings, seashells and even corn cobs. It was not until the 1800s that modern toilet paper made its official debut in America and has been a hot commodity worldwide ever since.
