LIST: Games eligible for cross-platform gaming
Through this time of pandemic crisis, social distancing is a requirement, which has made it a challenge to stay connected with friends and loved ones. While under stay at home orders, there are still many ways to enjoy one another’s company without leaving home. One of which is through the enjoyment of video games.
While individuals wishing to engage with one another through online play may game on different platforms, there is still hope to play with one another through cross-platform gaming. Cross-platform play offers multiplayer support no matter which consoles a person has, depending on which consoles the game supports.
Below is a list of games that support cross-platform play. Unless the game is designated as free-to-play, certain platforms will need an online pass in order to access features for online multiplayer such as PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
Fortnite
Xbox One, PS4, PC, Switch, iOS, Android
This is a battle royale-style free-to-play game where 100 players will go up against one another in order to survive. Team up with friends, build and fight together to see who will be the last one standing. Fortnite also offers a “Creative” option where one is able to create one’s own experience and enjoy it with friends. And lastly, “Save The World” where one joins friends to face off against a horde of zombies, fighting to survive. Fortnite Is known for its online multiplayer functionality, but it now offers local multiplayer with split-screen play. Splitscreen play will only be offered on PS4 and Xbox One. An online pass is not required in order to play online.
Dauntless

Dauntless is a free-to-play, multiplayer, action role-playing game (RPG) that takes place in a fantasy world. Fight along with other players against monsters known as Behemoths in order to save the land from annihilation. Find new materials and craft weapons to become stronger. This game is online only. An online pass is not required in order to play online.
Call of Duty Warzone

Call of Duty Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale style first-person shooter. In this multiplayer shooter experience, 150 players go up against one another with their squad. This game is online only. An online pass is not required in order to play online.
Brawlhalla
Xbox One, PS4, PC, Switch
Brawlhalla is a free-to-play 2D arena-style fighting game. Players are pitted against one another to see who will come out on top. This game offers online and local multiplayer. An online pass is not required to play online.
Paladins

Paladins is a free-to-play online sci-fi fantasy shooter. Play as champions and fight with a squad against other teams. This game is online only. An online pass is not required in order to play online.
Rocket League

Compete against other teams in this fast, high intensity, arcade-style soccer game. This game offers online and local play. An online pass is required in order to play online except for pc.
Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox game winning many awards over the years. Mine, craft and build in this 3D blocky world. Traverse the environment to create a world and explore worlds others have created. Play with or against others in survival mode and take on mobs. This game is offered for all platforms, but split screen only for console versions. An online pass is required in order to play online except for PC, iOS, and Android.
Final Fantasy XIV
PS4, PC, Mac
Final Fantasy XIV is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) created by Square Enix. Explore the world of Final Fantasy as one quests with friends. This game is online only. This is a subscription-based online game with a fee of $12.99 per month; Therefore, an online pass for PS4 is not needed.
Sea of Thieves
Xbox One, PC
Sea of Thieves is a first-person open world, action-adventure game. Play as a pirate to explore, fight and treasure hunt while sailing the seven seas. This game is free to play on a PC but will need an Xbox live pass to play on Xbox One. An online pass is required only for Xbox One.
Ultimate Chicken Horse
PS4, PC, Switch, Mac
Ultimate Chicken Horse is a party platform game. Build levels while playing the game, challenging opponents without becoming stumped. This game offers local play and online play. An online pass is required for the Switch and PS4 in order to play online.
