RECAP: Final SGA meeting discusses student org matters

The Nov. 17 SGA meeting began at 11:31 a.m.

Reginald Jones said the UHCL Alumni Association will be starting a student organization to connect students and alumni.

SGA President Hiba Loya spoke about the available SGA positions. There are three for the Executive Council and senate positions for all colleges

She also mentioned SDEI’s Global Expo and Cultural Extravaganza which will take place Nov. 19 at Campus Recreation and Wellness. 

SDEI will also be hosting a Global Friendsgiving Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. for more information, students can check on Get Involved or contact Loya and she will get them to the contact person for the event. 

Alina Thomas, peer advisor in OSIL, spoke about the Virtual Student Organization Leaders Roundtable where student leaders can discuss more about how this semester went for student organizations. 

Loya counted the student organization representatives to check quorum. 21 were present. 

Open Forum began and Loya announced a petition for students to sign for the Pass or Fail policy for Fall 2020.

Aravindh Shakti Shanmugam from the Indian Student Association asked if they can get a reimbursement for an event they did last week. They were informed they could not because the constitution states that they cannot ask after an event has passed.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:48 a.m.
