UHCL offers a wide array of on-campus jobs to students. Career Services, Human Resources and Financial Aid work together to provide students with employment opportunities on campus.

Career Services utilizes the platform Handshake to provide students with updates about job openings available both on campus and beyond.

Charles Crocker, director of career services, considers on campus jobs an opportunity for students to gain professional experience.

“We are by nature people who want to grow our students into professionals,” Crocker said. “It is an opportunity to engage with other students so you really can get this peer to peer experience and skills you may not get in the real world. And from an employer standpoint employers love to see that kind of work on a resume because it shows you really gained good training and experience.”
