COMMUNITY UPDATE: Return to Normal Classroom Operations for Face-to-Face Classes

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Let me begin by first thanking everyone for their continual work to keep our campus communities safe. Your efforts have helped preserve the in-class experience and the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. After careful review, and in consultation with Emergency Management and Faculty Senate leadership, UHCL leadership has decided to return to normal classroom operations for face-to-face classes starting Monday, October 25. If it becomes necessary to temporarily move a class to remote operation, that decision will continue to reside locally with faculty in consultation with department chairs.

Students with questions about their class schedules are encouraged to contact their professors via email. Faculty with questions should contact their department chairs.

We continue to monitor conditions very closely and are prepared to adapt as necessary. I ask that you help us slow the spread of COVID-19 and continue to observe the community standards for health and safety – masking up, getting vaccinated, self-reporting, and routine testing.

Sincerely,
Richard Walker, Ed.D.
Interim President
