MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: Passing of Dr. Howard Dillard

Dear UHCL Community:

I am deeply saddened to share with you that Dr. Howard Dillard, UH-Clear Lake’s Health Services Medical Director, has passed away. Our university, students, and staff have lost a thoughtful, respected, loyal and steadfast leader. Dr. Dillard was a valuable member of the Health Service Team for 46 years. Dr. Dillard volunteered his services at the request of UHCL’s first President in 1976.

Dr. Dillard had a unique sense of humor that often carried us through difficult times. In addition, he was able to connect with his students in a way that made them feel accepted and heard. We are all fortunate to have benefitted from his service and care. The Health Services Department is so grateful for his service and his extraordinary compassion and dedication.

I offer my condolences to Dr. Dillard’s family and all who knew and loved him.
