Veteran Friendly Zone Training 

Nov. 28 | 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | SSCB, Classroom 3.302

With special guest speaker Anthony Williams Chief Warrant Officer 4, United States Navy (Ret.) Texas Veterans Commission

During this training, faculty and staff will learn about the needs and experiences of student veterans including:

·        Awareness of resources available to UHCL student veterans on and off campus

·        Understanding of UHCL’s current student veteran and dependent population

·        Common issues experienced by UHCL student veterans

·        Effective techniques for managing classroom discussions around sensitive veteran topics

·        Best practices for connecting student veterans exhibiting signs of psychological distress with Counseling Services

Participants will receive a “UHCL Veteran Friendly Zone” decal to display in their office as well as other giveaways!
