INFOGRAPHIC: How the CARES Act affects higher education

Congress passed the Coronavirus, Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act as a relief package for the American people dealing with the public health and economic impacts of COVID-19.  This act, which is made up of over 2 trillion dollars, aimed at providing fast and direct economic assistance throughout the country.

The stimulus checks sent out around April 2020 were a part of the CARES Act. That money was to help pay for groceries, rent and any other financial necessities.
