Volunteers Needed – Spring 2012 Commencement

It’s that time again where we ask for your help with our commencement ceremony. As many of you already know, UHCL splits commencement into two ceremonies. Approximately 35 volunteers are needed for each ceremony to help welcome families and friends to the venue, distribute programs, direct guests to seats, help student check-in, help student robing, help students who need special accommodations or other needs that may arise. Helping out with our commencement ceremony is fun and a meaningful activity. Many volunteers return every Spring and Fall semester and new volunteers are always welcomed too! We also encourage department co-workers to submit their names together. Sign up and become part of this exciting event! We also would  like to remind you that there is a Shuttle Service to assist in providing transportation to and from UHCL campus and the Reliant Arena. This shuttle provides everyone the great opportunity to join in the activities. We can provide more details about the shuttle service schedule in one of our upcoming Commencement Volunteer meetings.

To volunteer, visit our UHCL Commencement website and complete the online Volunteer Sign-Up Form. A special navigation link called The Past  is available to view UHCL’s Commencement past ceremonies. Take a moment to see them and understand just how important your volunteer efforts and contribution is to this tradition!

To all supervisors: in areas other than those where work at Commencement activities is a part of the employee’s job responsibilities, employees may be given comp time at straight time for assisting with Commencement.
