Join the UHCL Team for the Bay Area Heart Walk!
University of Houston-Clear Lake is a proud participant in the American Heart Association Annual 5K Bay Area Heart Walk. Our goal is 150 UHCL walkers! The first 150 walkers to register for the UHCL Team will receive a UHCL Road Scholars T-shirt at the walk. Please help us reach our goal! The details of the walk are below.
Embracing a healthier life is one of the best gifts we can give to ourselves and those we love. This fun event promotes physical activity as part of a heart-healthy lifestyle and raises funds for research and programs to fight heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases are our nation’s No. 1 killer, claiming nearly 865,000 American lives per year, more than the next four leading causes of death combined.

American Heart Association 5K Walk
Saturday, October 26th
Kemah Boardwalk
7:30 a.m. – Registration/Heart-Healthy Festival
8:30 a.m. – Walk Begins
No fee to participate.
No fundraising required.
3 miles total (3 laps around the boardwalk; each lap equals 1 mile).
Walk as little or as much as you are comfortable walking.
Everyone is welcome to participate.
Family & friends are invited to join our UHCL Road Scholars Team.
