Winter Weather Alert for Jan. 23

From the University of Houston-Clear Lake Emergency Information website:

University of Houston-Clear Lake and all of its off-site locations, including UHCL Pearland Campus and the Texas Medical Center, are currently open and operating under normal conditions.

UHCL administrators are closely monitoring winter weather conditions as they develop this evening and overnight. Updates regarding the university’s status will be posted tonight by 10:45 p.m. and tomorrow by 5 a.m. on the UHCL Emergency Information website (www.UHCLemergency.info) as well as the UHCL Hotline (281-283-2221).

During inclement weather, it is vital for everyone to stay informed of news coverage about weather or road conditions and emergency information regarding personal safety and evacuation instructions. Recognizing the diverse range of personal circumstances faced by individuals, UHCL urges faculty, staff and students to make decisions in the best interest for themselves and their families. Employees who are unable to report for regularly scheduled work hours should coordinate anticipated vacation or other applicable leave with their direct supervisors before taking time off while the university is open and operating under normal conditions. Students who are unable to attend scheduled classes should coordinate missed sessions and coursework with their professors.

Appropriate closure information is conveyed to local news media outlets; however, the best sources of up-to-date, accurate information as to whether the university is open or closed are the UHCL Hotline (281-283-2221) and UHCL Emergency Information website (www.UHCLemergency.info).
