comiCulture, a free comics and pop culture symposium at UHCL

image003comiCulture event is a FREE symposium on comics and pop culture taking place in the Bayou Building on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

There will be a handful of guests to give presentations, most notably Cinzia Angelini (a Hollywood animator and story artist whose credits include “Minions” and “Spider-Man 2”), Matt Mogk(a renowned zombie “expert” who is a cast member of AMC’s “Talking Dead,” the live after-show of “The Walking Dead”), and Val Mayerik (co-creator of Howard the Duck).

 

In addition to presentations, there will be vendor booths with arts and crafts for sale, an art-making workshop, games, portfolio reviews for aspiring artists, and a comics exhibition. comiCulture kicks-off Friday night, Sept. 25, 7 p.m. in the SSCB lecture hall with a special free screening of Minions presented by the Office of Student Life.

 

comiCulture is open to everyone, to students, family, and friends. Seating for the presentations is limited and can be reserved at www.comiculture.org. There, you can also learn more about the activities and see the schedule, or you can find this information in the attached event program.
