The meeting started with fund requests from student organizations.

  • The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) requested funds to attend the TXBA annual conference April 11. The event will take place at Landry’s in Kemah from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Their request was approved today.

The Executive Council reminded everyone about EC applications.

The meeting ended with announcements from student organizations.

  • Communication and Digital Media Association (CDMA) will have an art show April 19 in the student organizations room. Students can submit up to three pieces of art, and there is a 5 dollar submission fee for each submission. If a piece of art sales, CDMA will keep 10 percent of the sale.
  • Legal Studies Association (LSA) will host a mock trial competition April 19 from 4-7 p.m. The mock trial will be broadcasted live and will be available for viewing in the Garden Room in the Bayou Building.
  • ROW adventures will be fundraising at Menchie’s on Bay Area Blvd April 4 from 2-7 p.m.
  • American Dental Society (ADS), Pre-Health and Science Association (PHSA), Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society (Tri-Beta) and Chemistry Club (CHEM) will host world health day April 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Atrium II. They will provide lunch on a first come, first serve basis.
  • The college of Human Sciences and Humanities will hold a business administrative summit April 25 and April 26 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are looking for volunteers. If interested, send an email to paul@uhcl.edu.
  • Teacher Career Fair will be held April 6 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in both Atrium I and II to accommodate all 39 employers.
    • STEM fest has been postponed a week and will most likely take place on April 18 and April 19. Follow career services on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for updates on the event.
  • The movie “The Mask You Live In” will be shown April 8 at 7 p.m. in the SSCB lecture hall. This movie is free for everyone, including people who are not students at UHCL.
  • The president’s roundtable will take place April 14 in the Student Org. Room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • The student conference will take place April 17-20, and students are encouraged to sign up to volunteer and be audience members.
  • A Continuing Education presentation is available every Friday morning. It is 18 dollars for each class and Christine Paul can be contacted at paul@uhcl.edu for more information.
