Students encouraged to take part in upcoming Lavender and Multicultural Graduations

The Office of Student Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will be hosting the first Lavender and Multicultural Graduations at UHCL. The ceremonies recognize the academic achievement and contributions of diverse and historically underrepresented UHCL student populations. The celebration does not substitute the official UHCL commencement, but is meant to be a time for family and friends to celebrate their graduation in a more personal and culturally specific way.

The Office invites any graduating students to apply for either the Lavender Graduation or Multicultural Graduation. Students must register by April 19, 2019 to reserve their spot in the ceremony. Questions about the event can be sent to the Office of Student Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at studentdiversity@uhcl.edu.

The Lavender Graduation will be May 2 at 7 p.m. in the STEM Lecture Hall. Students can register at https://bit.ly/2UNqn0w.
