BRIEF: Fall 2019 commencement ceremonies

The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) will hold fall 2019 commencement ceremonies Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, at the NRG Arena. The noon ceremony is for the colleges of education and business, while the 5 p.m. ceremony is for the colleges of science and engineering and human sciences and humanities.

The commencement ceremony follows centuries-old traditions similar to those held at the first European universities who honored their graduates, just as UHCL does today.

The ceremony will consist of a processional and recessional. All candidates for graduation are expected to remain on the center floor for the entire ceremony. After the ceremony, those in the audience are asked to remain seated until all those in graduation regalia have exited the center. All candidates can meet their family and guests outside the building.

Candidates are asked to arrive two hours prior to the beginning of the ceremony. If candidates arrive late they will not be permitted to enter the arena during the processional.

A parking fee of no more than $20 will be charged for candidates and guests attending.

A live stream of commencement will be broadcast via YouTube Live. Recordings will be made available on the live stream web page and the university’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/user/uhclearlake, approximately 48 hours after the event concludes.
