SGA urges students to reach out to their professors

The Feb. 9 Student Government Association (SGA) meeting began at 11:31 a.m.

The fund request balance is $22,500.

Hiba Loya, SGA president counted student representatives to check quorum. 20 were present.

Loya announced the mental health event on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. The speaker will talk about ways to cope with isolation and quarantine.

“This presentation will be good for anyone struggling with mental health,” Loya said.

Since SGA has not met quorum, they cannot vote on constitutional amendments.

SGA will advertise on social media to get involved on-campus.

There are still vice president positions, senate positions and committee representatives available.

Tyvia Chandler with Career Services announced the Feb. 8-12 internship week. Visit jobs4hawks for registration details.

Open forum began. Loya met with Elizabeth Beavers, president of the faculty senate to discuss how some professors do not feel recognized.

“If a professor has helped you in some way, reach out to them and say thank you,” Loya said.

SGA meetings will be uploaded to the SGA YouTube channel.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:51 a.m.
