BRIEF: Black History Month events to continue into March

UHCL hosted multiple events in celebration of Black History Month. Departments hosting the events include the Office of Student Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Counseling Services, Cultural Arts, College of Education, College of Human Sciences and Humanities, Alfred R. Neumann Library, Common Reader Program and Alpha Phi Sigma and the Campus Activities Board.

Many events take place in parts. This includes the Black Student Support Group, which took place every Wednesday in February.

Other events throughout the month included:

The art gallery for Charles Washington, which was listed as one of the “Special Events” for Black History Month, will continue to be displayed until Mar. 19.

Additionally, the “Community Conversation with Local Police Chiefs” event was postponed because of Winter Storm Uri. The event was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Students can visit UHCL’s Black History Month page to learn about other events and information for the month.
