COMMUNITY UPDATE: Continuation of Safety Protocols and Vaccination Opportunity

Dear Hawks:

I am aware of the CDC’s recent interim public health recommendations for fully vaccinated people and reviewing with university leaders. At this time, there are no changes to our existing COVID-19 safety protocols, which require all UH-Clear Lake faculty, staff, students, and visitors to continue to observe the following protocols:

  • Wearing a required face covering on campus, even when alone, other than while eating and drinking;
  • Maintaining six feet of social distance from others; and
  • Practicing hygiene by washing and sanitizing hands often

For those wishing to get vaccinated, Harris County Public Health will offer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, at the Garden Room in the Bayou Building. Additional detail on how to register will follow early next week.

The health and well-being of our faculty, staff and students remains our highest priority. Let us continue to work together to keep all Hawks safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Ira K. Blake, Ph.D.
President
