COMMUNITY UPDATE: Spring ’22 Update  – Return to scheduled instructional modality Jan. 31

Congratulations on a great first week of the semester! I hope that you are off to a good start and wish you a successful semester.

As you already know, the University of Houston-Clear Lake made modifications to the first two weeks of the semester (January 18-30) with some courses moving to online instruction during these two weeks while other courses remain face-to-face in order to meet specific academic requirements. All UH-Clear Lake facilities and resources remain open and available to students.

As planned, UHCL courses will return to their scheduled instructional modality (i.e., face-to-face, online, or hybrid) on January 31, 2022.

University personnel have been very busy this past week. Four COVID-19 testing sites are now operational and available on campus, a vaccination clinicwas held on campus today (additional clinics will be held in the coming weeks), and additional masks have been obtained and are once again available to students and employees at no cost. Even though the number of reported COVID-19 cases is trending in the right direction, I would encourage all members of the university community to remain vigilant and follow our current UHCL guidelines related to COVID-19, which can be found at this link. Per CDC recommendations, the most effective way to stay healthy is to be fully vaccinated (with booster), mask up, and get tested regularly.

We will continue to monitor public health conditions in this region and use that information to determine the best way to support you and the entire UHCL community. Our priority will remain the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff.

Students are encouraged to contact their instructors with course-specific questions. Any additional questions can be sent to provostoffice@uhcl.edu.
