Educational Management Streamlines Program Content

The Educational Management program has streamlined its course content, reducing the required semester credit hours from 39 to 33 effective summer semester 2012, reports Bettye Grigsby, assistant professor of administration and supervision and educational management program coordinator.

“By carefully reassessing program content, we were able to merge and consolidate content in four of our courses,” said Grigsby. This not only reduced the semester credit hours required, but it also better aligned the individual courses to designated Educational Leadership Constituents Council (ELCC) standards and the Texas Examinations of Educator Standards™ (TExES™) competencies, a move that will prove beneficial to students, she adds. “We’re satisfied that these course consolidations fit the bill.”

Current students should contact faculty advisers to complete course substitution paperwork related to their plans of study. For more information or to register, please contact David Benz, director of student relations, at benzda@uhcl.edu or 281-283-3600.
