Weekend Cohort To Be Offered at San Jacinto North Campus

If you have been contemplating an advanced degree in educational management with principal certification but cannot commit to weekday classes, you are in luck. The School of Education will begin offering a weekend cohort at the San Jacinto Campus-North, beginning fall 2012.

“It’s an appealing program,” says Bettye Grigsby, assistant professor of administration and supervision and educational management program coordinator. “Classes will be held on Saturdays, and with the new streamlined program requirement of just 33 semester hours, it’s possible for students starting the program this September to complete the degree by spring 2014.”

Classes are taught in the hybrid model which includes 40 percent online work and the remainder as face-to-face meetings. For the graduate practicum, students will work with a campus mentor, often the principal, on administration projects.
