Are you a Management Information Systems student?

The Management Information Systems Organization (MISO) will be welcoming new students in the Management Information System (MIS) department this Friday, Sept. 16, 6-8 p.m. in the Bayou Building Lecture Hall. Pre-registration is not required and a $5 entry fee includes membership dues and food for the event.

This meet-and-greet event will present an overview of the MIS department. Students will have the opportunity to be greeted by professors and receive an overview of the curriculum in an environment outside of the classroom.  MISO will also be presenting an overview of the organization to explain the opportunities and benefits of joining.

“Attending the MISO meet-and-greet gave me an optimistic attitude of the department by helping me understand what professors expect from students and gain exposure about academics, alumni and the MIS industry,” said Preethi Badawadagi, MIS Student Government Association representative.

The 2016 Spring semester MISO meet-and-greet event welcomed approximately 45 students and is expecting 60 to attend this semester.

MISO was created to provide interaction among members, faculty and alumni to establish professional industry leaders and assist with academic and career goals. For more information on MISO, please visit http://www.miso-uhcl.org.
